Getting Ready for Kindergarten

The Manchester Community School District is pleased to announce that 2012-2013 Kindergarten Registration is now underway.

Families of children who will be five years old on or before December 1, 2012, are eligible to attend Kindergarten in the 2012-2013 school year.  Families who live in the Manchester Community School District, or who live in Washtenaw County or a county that borders Washtenaw County and would like to have their children attend the Manchester Schools as a school of choice, are encouraged to contact Klager School as soon as possible to be added to the Kindergarten information mailing list.  Registration materials are now available for pick up at the Klager office.  For additional information contact Klager Schools at 734-428-8321 x 1300.

The Manchester Community Schools are committed to educational excellence in a caring community.  A priority in the district’s improvement process is providing teachers learning opportunities without sacrificing instructional time.  Therefore, MCS is implementing district delayed starts.  These delayed starts will take place on the following Wednesdays: 10/12, 11/9, 1/18, 2/8, 3/14, 4/18, and 5/16.

High school classes will begin at 9:40 AM (Supervised Breakfast- 9:10 AM  to 9:40 AM)

Middle school classes will begin at 9:53 AM (Supervised Breakfast- 9:23 AM to 9:53 AM)

Klager classes will begin at 10:00 AM (Supervised Breakfast-  9:30 AM to 10:00 AM)

Chidcare will be provided for K-8 students.  The individual leading this effort in the district will be Kelly Ball.  Her email is kball@mcs.k12.mi.usThe buildings officially will open for supervised breakfast 30 minutes before the start of classes. 

All bus schedules will be delayed by approximately 90 minutes.

Welcome to the Manchester Community Schools

The Manchester Community School District is in Southwestern Washtenaw County, approximately 20 miles southwest of Ann Arbor. The school district enjoys a high level of involvement and support from parents and citizens.  The Manchester Community Schools offer a robust academic program which includes strong core content area instruction, as well as art education, physical education, vocal and instrumental music, business and technology courses, career technical opportunities, athletics, foreign languages (Spanish and German), Advanced Placement courses, and a broad array of extracurricular activities.  The Manchester Community School districts provides educational excellence in a caring community.

 Manchester Schools participates in Schools of Choice   and accepts Washtenaw County students and students from counties that physically border Washtenaw County. These words summarize our vision as a school district. It is a vision that both describes what we are about and that for which we will continuously strive.

Our Board of Education has established goals designed to focus our efforts on behalf of students. Our goals for this school year are:   

Student Achievement - Develop, implement, teach and assess a competitive instructional program for all grade levels.

Communication - Improve board, administration, staff and community relations.

Financial - Maintain and strenghten the financial condition of the school district.

School Safety - Study, recommend and implement policy, practice, and physical plant updates that improve student safety.
